Zu meinen Gedanken zu dem Thema der Ausstellung “Hero” kam mir gleich die Idee einen deutschen “Hero” mittels japanischer Kalligraphie und Tuschemalerei auszudrücken. Denn es freut mich, wenn das Bild vielleicht eine kulturelle Brücke werden könnte. “Es war Einmal” wird auf Japanisch übersetzt: “Mukashi mukashi aru tokoroni…”, der typische Satz des Anfangs eines jeden Märchens. Als mein Thema wählte ich Siegfried, den deutschen Helden des Nibelungenlieds einer deutsche Legende. Siegfried ist allgemein als Drachentöter bekannt, jedoch hat der furchtloser Held bestimmt auch entspannte Zeiten an einem ruhigen See, tief im Natur, verbracht. So ist es in meiner Fantasie. Übrigens ist dieses Bild nach der Vorlage eines Bildes einer nordischen Volksmusikband gezeichnet, welches genau meinen Vorstellungen von Siegfried entspricht. Die Kalligrafie im Bild ist wie ein japanisches Haiku ausgedrückt, „Kita no kuni, nani wo omouya, yuu no hito“ heißt übersetzt etwa; „Im Land des Nordens, worüber denkst du, kühner Held“.

My thoughts on the motive of the exhibition “Hero” came up with the idea that I would like to express a German “Hero” with Japanese calligraphy and ink painting. As I would be happy if the picture could be a cultural bridge. “Es war ein mal (Once upon a time) ” is translated in Japanese: “Mukashi mukashi aru tokoroni …”, the typical sentence at the beginning of any fairy tale. For my personal theme I took Siegfried, the hero of the Nieblungenlied, a German legend. Siegfried is generally known as the dragon slayer. But the fearless hero should as well have spent time at a calm lake in the middle of a forest. Which is the product of my fantasy. By the way, this picture has as template the cover-art of a nordic folk music band. Because that is exactly my picture of Siefgfried. The Calligraphy in this art is written like a japanese haiku, “Kita no kuni, nani wo omouya, yuu no hito / In the land of the north, what are you thinking about, bold hero”.

ドイツ在住の私だからこそ、この場を借りて文化の架け渡しに少しでも貢献できれば嬉しいということで、ドイツのヒーローを日本の墨絵と書道で表現しよう！と考えました。 タイトルの「エス・ヴァ―・アインマール」は日本語の「むかしむかしあるところに・・・」という、昔話の冒頭です。 イメージとしては、ドイツの伝説「ニーベルンゲン物語」に登場する英雄「ジーグフリード」をテーマにしました。 ジーグフリードは一般にはドラゴン退治の英雄として伝わっていますが、そんな勇猛な彼にも、静かにこんなふうに湖のほとりでぼーっとすることもあるのではないか、のような私の妄想です。 ちなみにこの図はある北欧民族音楽のグループの写真があまりにもこのイメージにピッタリだったので、それをお手本に描かせていただきました。 かな書では「北の国　何を思うや　勇の人」と書かれています。
